Marriage: Family Driven Faith - Lesson 5 "Give Him Your Heart"
This powerful message challenges us to examine the very foundation of how we think as followers of Christ. Drawing from Deuteronomy 6:4-9, we're reminded that raising biblically literate children requires more than just teaching rules—it demands that God's Word be written on our hearts first. The sermon confronts a sobering reality: less than 10% of self-proclaimed born-again Christians in America possess a biblical worldview, and shockingly, only 37% of pastors do. This isn't just about intellectual knowledge; it's about fundamentally changing how we process every decision, every thought, and every action through the lens of Scripture. We learn that a worldview functions like a pair of glasses through which we see reality, or like an instruction manual that shows us where each piece of our life fits. The message walks us through five critical questions every worldview must answer: What do we believe about God? About man? About truth? About knowledge? About ethics? When we compare secular humanism—the dominant worldview in our culture—with Christian theism, the contrasts are stark and life-altering. The call here is urgent: if we don't intentionally cultivate a biblical worldview in ourselves and our children, they'll simply follow our rules while under our roof, but once they leave, they'll make decisions based on whatever worldview they've actually absorbed. This is why so many young people raised in Christian homes abandon their faith in college—they had rules but not a transformed way of thinking.
