Are You UNWORTHY?

Jan 11, 2026    Pastor Dennis

This powerful message centers on the transformative encounter between Jesus and Zacchaeus in Luke 19, revealing three profound truths about our worth in God's eyes. We often measure our value through appearance, achievements, approval, and affluence—standards that constantly shift and leave us feeling empty. Zacchaeus had wealth but lacked everything else: he was short in stature, despised as a tax collector, and rejected by his community. Yet Jesus walked through crowds of thousands to stop at his tree, call him by name, and invite Himself to dinner. This story teaches us that Jesus notices us even when we feel invisible, lifts us up when the world pushes us down, and wants us despite our past failures. The most remarkable aspect is that we are God's masterpieces, with our names written on the scarred palms of Christ's hands. When we truly grasp how much we matter to God, it changes everything—our self-perception, our behavior, and our hearts. Zacchaeus was instantly transformed from the most selfish man in town to the most generous, demonstrating that genuine salvation produces visible change. We don't work to earn salvation, but our works reveal that salvation has occurred within us.
