Marriage & Family - Family Driven Faith: Lesson Two
This powerful message confronts us with an uncomfortable truth: the breakdown of the family is directly responsible for the breakdown of the church, and ultimately, the breakdown of our nation. Drawing from 1 Timothy 3, we're reminded that spiritual leadership begins at home. The qualifications for pastoral ministry aren't primarily about education or credentials, but about managing one's household well and raising children in godliness. This same standard applies to all of us as parents. We live in a culture that Isaiah 5:20 warned about, where evil is called good and good is called evil. Satan is attacking families with unprecedented intensity, using schools and media to normalize what God calls abomination. The solution isn't found in cultural compromise but in returning to biblical priorities. We must reject the lie that strict parenting or regular church attendance will cause our children to rebel. Scripture teaches the opposite in Deuteronomy 6, commanding us to teach God's Word diligently to our children at all times. The spiritual nourishment our children receive, even when they don't remember every sermon or lesson, shapes their souls just as physical food sustains their bodies. Our primary goal cannot be academic achievement, athletic success, or early romantic relationships. These pursuits, while not inherently wrong, have replaced the most important pursuit: raising children who walk with God and carry the faith to the next generation.
